There are various methods to diagnose allergies. The most used method is blood tests to find out an allergen-specific IgE. Another method is placing probable allergens on skin and waiting for reactions like swelling, itching etc.
Treatment of Allergies:
Traditional treatment for allergy relief was simply avoiding the allergens. But presently to treat allergies the most fruitful methods are medication and immunotherapy. But people who do not want to use the medications choose alternative therapy. For example, nasal rinse treatment, such as butterbur, neti pot etc can be applied for treating sinus allergies.
Another method for treating allergies is immunotherapy. It is a method in which the allergy patient is slowly vaccinated with even larger doses of allergens. This decreases the severity of the allergies or eliminates it.
The second type of immunotherapy includes the intravenous injections of monoclonal anti-IgE antibodies. This method is very effective in treating severe ellergies.
The third type of immunotherapy includes sublingual immunotherapy which is effective for food allergies and resident bacterial allergies. And the last treatment method of allergies is medication. However, it is essential for allergic people to keep distance from their respective allergens.
